Smart Buy Sunday #1

Smart Buy Sunday ? What is this you may ask; Smart Buy Sunday is a weekly article we are introducing to SneakerMiyagi where we discuss the upcoming week’s releases and which are worth purchasing and why. We will state facts such as release dates and RRP’s, but we will also give approximations on resell values and our opinions and reasonings on why you should purchase the sneakers if we consider them a Smart Buy.

Our main goal for this is to help out those sneakerhead’s that are kids or teenagers that can’t work yet but really want some money to be able to buy themselves sneakers and other things they may be interested in. As a kid/teenager it’s hard to get what you want because you rely on your parents’ money as you don’t have an income and legally can’t work. What you can do is gather money from helping out and birthday’s/christmas’ and invest it into one of your passions which is sneakers, we’ll show you sneakers that will have a resell value over the RRP and you can make the choice as to whether it’s worth your investment or not. We are not only targeting kids/teenagers, we are also targeting those that want to make an extra bit of cash on the side via something they love in order to get those sneakers they really want, sneakers that they might not be able to get as their money has to pay for bills.

We will cover releases from Monday morning to Sunday night. This week we will be covering releases from Monday the 1st of April to Sunday the 7th of April.

Let’s get into the first ever Smart Buy Sunday:

This week is a very calm one when it comes to releases, the exact opposite of this past week as we’ve had Yeezy’s, three Suptempos, VaporMax’s, a sold out Ultra Boost, the Wings+Horns X Adidas collaboration, an Adidas EQT Support 93/17, the Air Jordan 7 “Pantone”, and finally the Air Jordan 30.5 “Why Not?”. Last week as you can see was huge, this week not so much but we still have a sneaker that we consider a Smart Buy!

NIKE Air VaporMax “Pale Grey”

Lets take a look at the Nike Air VaporMax “Pale Grey”. The VaporMax “Pale Grey” dropped this past Thursday April 27th at retailers such as Nike EU, SneakersNStuff, End. Clothing and many more to name in Europe. With Nike creating the “Nike VaporMax” with the newest and latest technology in mind it looked to be a hit. Sold out across all major Nike retailers such as ones named above. The “Nike Air VaporMax” hits the US May 4th. This drop wouldn’t be a restock date but the very first release date for the US seeing the “Pale Grey” Nike VaporMax. In the EU they will restock so if you missed out the first time, make sure you don’t miss out this time.

Release Date: May 4th

Recommended Retail Price: $190

Approximate Resell Price: $220-$250

Reason: Here in the EU the lowest you can pay for a pair of the Nike Vapor Max “Pale Grey” on eBay is $220, the majority of the pairs on eBay currently are going for $250, which means that eventually the price will sit at $220. The Vapor Max’s will most likely be mass produced and readily available on NIKE ID in the near future, but if you purchase the original colour ways they will always hold their value as they are the OG’s, especially simple colour ways such as grey, white and triple black (take the Ultra Boost’s as a prime example of this). All pairs in-store and online have sold out so don’t expect any different in the US. This is a smart buy to flip quick to those that don’t have access to them. Not everyone has access to stores, therefore they purchase online and these sneakers don’t sit online and currently they don’t even sit in-store, if you manage to cop a pair they are the people you’ll be targeting. They are not major, but they are smart buy.

This is what Smart Buy Sunday consists of, if you enjoyed it make sure you let us know so we can continue doing them! This week we only considered this release a Smart Buy, hopefully we’ll have more sneakers next week and in the weeks to come!
